Q: what do we do at retreats?
A: various activities depending on the location e.g. disc golf, archery, golfing, long walks on the beach, talking around the campfire etc. we also have our meals together and a meeting every night. It’s also an excellent opportunity to do step work and meetings with a Sponsor or Sponsee.
Q: what should I bring?
A: in addition to the obvious personal stuff like clothes and toiletries consider bringing your favorite board game, specialty food if you have dietary needs, headphones, a book you’ve been putting off reading. Bring your tent and camping gear if you have not reserved a bed in the cabins.
Q: what is provided at the camp retreat?
A: all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner along with snacks and drinks. limited beds in cabins are first come first served.
Q: what is provided at the OBX and Lake retreat?
A: most beach and lake retreats have private rooms and shared rooms. prices are higher for private rooms. food and drink is family style and the cost is shared between all.
Q: when are the retreats?
A: typically there is a beach trip in the spring, a lake or mountain trip in the fall, camp caton and camp david alternate between a fall and winter retreat
Q: what is Camp Caton?
A: 25 acres of secluded land in north Fluvanna County, VA with woods and open fields, Small pond and creek. There are multiple cabins for sleeping, social activities and meetings. One large cabin for cooking and fellowship. Being secluded, completely off grid and built for the fellowship provides a spiritual experience like no other.
